Well, I'm not sure if it is but it very well could be. I wanted to try and get Bacci out just one more time, just in case he can't do it next year. We got out of work early for New Year's Eve so I ran home and grabbed the dog and headed over to Black River. There was no one there...just me and two other cars. Bacci and I walked to the back. I wasn't going to push him at all but just follow him. When we got to the back he got really birdy on a path that was in between the fields and a hedgerow. I was certain that he was smelling something from this morning but he was locked. I walked towards the spot he was pointing to and a cockbird came busting out of the cover. I got him and couldn't' have been happier. The weather, the fact that it was Bacci and I alone...and that it was probably his last made this the most special bird I've ever shot. We walked around a bit more and made our way back to the truck (where we kicked up 5 deer). When we got home, I immediately cooked up the pheasant and gave it to Bacci. He deserved it.

Last Saturday birds
Went to Flatbrook for the last Saturday. I planned on bringing Bacci but after the last time, I just don't think he would do well with it. I met up with Greg and Amil and there was a ton of guys so we started up the hill. I got a tree bird when we first went in and all in all, we ended up with 4 birds. My tree bird was the only one for me. I had a good time though. There were ample opportunities for a change.

Unlucky 13
Took a half day from work because it was so nice out. Went to the club with the intention to sit in the swamp. When I got there, I saw that the pit was open and I didn't want to sit with trucks driving by again. I thought of perhaps going to the dip but most of the fields back there have been cleaned out. So, back to 13 I went. I had a very enjoyable sit but no deer at all.

Birdy Christmas
Well, that was the plan anyway. I went up to Flatbrook on Christmas eve. I met Amil there and we hunted together for quite some time. We only had one flush in the first field and then one in the swamp behind the big hill way afterwards. It was a slow, but enjoyable day.

Back to the birds
After a bird hiatus, I was happy to be back at them this morning. I wanted to get out with Bacci for a change so I went locally. There was a few inches of snow on the ground which made the walking tough. We did manage to see a bird or two, had a really great time together but the walking was tough so I brought Bacci home after an hour and 20 minutes. He was shot.

Not even tracks
Went to the club today and sat on the hill next to 13. This is the first time back since the snow so I was excited to see all the tracks from the deer that have passed by. I was quite disappointed to see hardly any tracks. More disappointed to see no deer while I was there.

Morning post before the snow
We're supposed to have some pretty good snow today so i wanted to get out for a bit before it hit. I went up to the club and met Greg there. He told me that he got a 6 on this past Monday in the rain. He told me that Tony also got a 6 on Thursday. I told him I was holding out for bone and he said that he would shoot a doe if the opportunity came. I went back to 13 and sat on the side of the hill and waited for the sun. As I was getting dressed another car drove into the pit and towards the river. Tony maybe? Not sure. Late, around 10:00 I had three does come by me at a pretty good pace and go up the hill. About 20 minutes or so later I heard a shot, quickly followed by another. It was from our property but not sure if it was Greg or where Tony (?) was. I waited until about 10:30 and got out. I thought Greg may need help and when I got there his truck was there and the only pins there was me and Greg. I'm not sure what happened.

What a day!
I started the day by going up to Flatbrook. I met up with Greg and we decided to team up with Amil on the field. I figured it would be a good day because when I got there, Greg was the only one in the lot and there were 4 birds in the trees. Of course, by the time we started, the birds all flew away and the parking lot filled up. We started down the first field and, like it's supposed to be and used to be, there were bird flushing out of the field. We continued all the way into the back, then made our way back to the hill and once around. When all was said and done, Greg had two birds, Amil had 4 and I had ...um, none. lol I was just in the wrong place each time a bird went up. I did end up taking one of Amil's birds though.
Once we were done bird hunting I went home, ate something and then headed up to the club. Greg said that he was going up as well. He planned on being in 10. He told me about a stand in the middle of the field behind the pit, on the way to the river. I had never seen it before so I took a walk back. It was a great area, that's were all the deer are going that I had been seeing from 13. I went half way up the stand and it felt a little old, plus there was a big branch where I would need to draw the bow. I went down and made my way over to 13. It was a beautiful sit...chilly and sunny. I kept looking around and didn't expect anything to come by. I was really hoping to see deer walk from the brush, over the path so that the next time I'm on the hill with my gun i could have a shot. At around 4:00 I saw a nice doe walk into the path. Instead of her crossing over, she actually meandered down towards me. She didn't come all the way in front of me but went into the brush to my left. It was a 25 yard shot, I lined up the scope and squeezed the trigger. I could see the arrow sticking out of her shoulder area and she disappeared across the path and up the brush. I got down a few minutes later and found my arrow in half. There was hardly any blood. It was hard to track her, in fact, I got on my hands and knees to track her all the way up the hill. One drop of blood at a time. I have to get new broadheads. This is the second deer I took with the ones I'm using and I hate them. She went 100+ yards, maybe closer to 150 and I was on my knees the whole time. I found her, that was hard enough...then I had to drag her back down, on my knees backwards. I finally did make it back out to the pit, exhausted, cut up but I finally got a deer!

Bring on the parade
Ok, so today I'm going to 13. Well, not quite 13 but I have been seeing deer along side of the hill on the way to 13 so that's where I'm going to set up. I walked the path to 13 to see what tracks there were and just where I expected them, I saw a bunch of tracks crossing the path. They thinned out when getting closer to 13 so I knew I would stay on the hill. I made myself a comfy spot and was sure that I would see deer. I didn't.

Opening day muzzy
I decided to walk to the dip stand and then along the edge of the field and then over to the swamp before heading out to stand 13. There was a feed block put at the corner of the field, my guess is by Frank or Gary. I went up the hill to the dip stand and saw a big pile of, what I think is, bear crap. Not making me happy. Then went along the field. Saw, what looks like a highway for the deer coming in and out of the field. I made my way to the swamp and saw a bunch of crap along the edge, a rub inside the swamp and trails throughout. I decided to sit there tonight. I saw nothing. Probably a parade under 13!

Another slow Saturday
I'm so disappointed in Pheasant hunting this year. I'm sure that it's because I don't have my dog but it seems so dang slow. I am not even getting to shoot.

Happy Thanksgiving
Went for my traditional Thanksgiving day hunt up at Flatbrook. The stocking was still pretty light. It seems that most of the birds were against the river or on the other side of the river. Greg and I didn't get a shot until we were almost done and then it was a flyover from the other side of the river. Greg got it.

Another slow day birds....
Went bird hunting at Flatbrook today. Another slow day. Really nothing to even talk about other than Greg and I were so disgusted we were only there a short time. I then went to the club to hunt deer and set up on the side of the hill next to 13. Felt good that I would see a deer and get a shot. I didn't.

Bird hunting at Danny's club
Had a fantastic time with Daniella and Danny hunting at his club. Bacci did really well for an hour but then couldn't quite make the second hour. Danny's dog, Archie is really good...runs like a rocket! But holds like a stone. We got 11 birds...3 pheasant and the rest chukkar.

Kind of slow...
Went to Flatbrook again this morning and started at the same place we did last week. It was slow. We didn't see a bird in the first field so we turned around and went up the hill. Did the same track as we did last week. This time, however, we found a hen on the top of the hill in our favorite spot. I got her. Didn't see another bird until we got back into the swamp and then I found one in a tree, already dead. Greg climbed the tree and got it. Then, when we were done (including going across the road and walking the mountain), we were in the lot talking (the only two cars left there) and someone from the field shot and apparently missed because the bird flew on the top of the hill. We grabbed our guns and went up and I got her (after Greg missed twice). It was a gorgeous day so even thought it was slow, it was nice to be here...and I got two birds.

Moonscape
I took off work early to head back to the club. I wanted to sit at 13 again because I feel like I'm so close there, just can't make it work. I got to the club and drove to the pit. I wanted to look at the path crossing when I got there to see if there was a place I could sit instead of the stand. There is, sort of...but it would be hard. I would be in the open a little bit so I went back to the stand. As I was getting dressed, a bulldozer drove by me and then by the stand. I thought, this can't be good. When I got to the stand I was devastated to see that the lower field was now bulldozed under also. I didn't hear the dozer while I was in the stand so I assumed he was over the top near the end of the property. At 3:30 he came back down the hill, by me and into the pit. I guess he's done for the day. I'm sitting on the moon!
My discouragement was short lived. I saw three does (not huge) walking from the top, across the moon to the hedgerow. They walked around there for a bit and then crossed into the thick brush, and then across the path. Shortly after, I saw a 5 pointer, being followed by a spike, that walked from the thick stuff to my right, to just about in front of me. Then went up the hill, over into the brush, and then across the path. Then, at last light, I saw what I think or describe as a palmated deer...it was like a spike (with big long spikes) that have nubs off of them...I think it was a 7 or 8. Despite the moonscape, it was an exciting night.

Early at Black River
Decided to go in late to work and try out Black River on first push. All I can say is, it's hard to hunt without a dog. There were a lot of cards but I never felt crowded. I was told by others that the weekends are not fun. I didn't see anything but will try again with Bacci.

Opening day pheasant - first without Bacci
Not like a normal opening day. Now that I've moved, I could go 4 minutes from my house in one direction, 15 minutes in another but instead, I have to drive all the way up to Flatbrook to go to my normal spot. Just because! I got to the lot and it was crowded but not quite as much as I thought it would be. Greg and I were going to start in our normal spot but as we were standing there, a bunch of other guys and their dogs stood right next to us so we went further down the road. We started at the far end of the field and as we started, we put up one cock bird which Greg shot. I was surprised how slow everyone went and how little birds we saw. After the first field, Greg and I went to the hill. We saw nothing up there which was surprising. We crossed the road again and made our way back into the swamp. It was very dry so we could walk most of it. As we were in there, some guys put up a triple! We saw where they went so we went in pursuit. We found one and kicked it up and I shot it. He came down but we weren't able to find it. It must have ran (although I would have sworn it was dead as a doornail). It was really think so maybe we just couldn't find it. I don't know. We walked to the back of the property and back down the riverside. Greg saw a bird actually swimming further up stream so we worked our way back and after thinking about how to get this bird, Greg got in the water. The bird walked for a bit and then flew right down the river. Well, up actually. I didn't want to shoot and have it land in the water so we didn't shoot at it either. That was all for Flatbrook. It was fun, but so not the same with out Bacci.
I went home and ate lunch. I picked up Bacci and took him to Black River. It was a lot busier than I would have thought for an afternoon but once I got in, I didn't see that many guys. We walked down a few fields and Bacci loved being in the fields again. He walked along until we got to the back where he put up a covey of quail. He went on fire and had a great time flushing some singles. All in all, it was an outstanding day.

Still so close, yet so far...(and what the hell are they doing to my club)
I went to the club after working half day. I planned on going back to stand 13 again. I was used to seeing what they have done to the first field on the left but as I drove to the back, I was shocked and horrified to see that they've now taken out the upper field as well. I got to the stand and heard the bulldozer taking more and more property away. I was walking to my stand and I saw a doe with a broken front leg (right) being hounded by a little spike. The doe jumped in front of me and away, as i got into my stand i saw the spike just standing in the pathway. He eventually left. Later on I saw them both running (her from him) about 30 yards from me but I couldn't get a shot. I would have certainly taken her out of her misery.
Later on, I heard a noise...it got louder and closer. I looked up the field and saw a deer moving across the clearing. What I didn't know is, she was running just ahead of the bulldozer that was pushing down toward the field, to the right of my tree. It then went into the pit and all the machinery calmed down. The deer that was pushed ahead of the bulldozer eventually crossed up the path (as soon as I can get my muzzy in hand, I'm going there). It got dark and I got down. As I was walking out, the little spike stood up from the grass and looked at me. I put up my bow and could have shot, but i let him walk to get bigger.

I've gone soft...
I went back to the club today and sat, yet again, at 13. I'm really enjoying this stand this year. The pit was active and I thought that perhaps that would scare away the deer, but they are used to it I suppose. At around 3:30 I had a nice doe and a fawn come to the stand. They stayed right under me, eating acorns. I contemplated whether or not to shoot the big doe, but I couldn't shoot her in front of her kid. Likewise, I couldn't shoot the fawn (which was clearly old enough to be separated) in front of the mom. I thought hard about it though. As they were walking toward me I thought, God, if I'm not supposed to shoot one, don't let them give me the opportunity. While they were under my stand, I raised my bow on the bigger of the two but before I could decide whether to squeeze off a shot, they bolted...not sure why, or what scared them, but they took off. I guess that was my answer.

another bust...
The weather was gorgeous when I was at home...sunny and cool, not cold, but really nice. Its the perfect weather for sitting on stand all afternoon. I got to my new favorite spot and set up and then the sun went in and the wind started blowing. It got cold and so much for the perfect stand sitting day. I didn't see a darn thing.

This is more like it.
Ok. So now I'm obsessed with this spot. I got to the spot nice and early today and it wasn't very long before I had a small doe walking toward me. She walked right under my stand and ate some hard, crunchy things. She was so small that she wasn't worth my thought of shooting, I would get more meat from Bacci! It was nice to watch her though. However, after about a half hour, I wanted her to walk away. She is just another set of eyes on me in case a bigger one shows up. She did eventually walk away and sure enough I saw a bigger doe. She came down the hill from the pit side and walked across the path and to the big field in the back. Not too long after that, another doe walked from the same way and walked up the path toward the pit and then also disappeared in to the big field. Not too much after that I saw a nice 6 (I think it was anyway) walk from the field, across the path and go up the hill. I watched up the hill and managed to get a glimpse of him walking into the woods that were up the hill. That was all for the night but it sure gave me a good feeling for this spot.

What a change two days can make!
So, after the day I had on Thursday, I had to get back to that spot. I was sure that it is only a matter of time before one of those bigger deer walked by me. Well, not today. I didn't see a thing!

I hate jumping spiders!!
I went to the club today. It was pretty warm, probably about 70 although in the sun it felt warmer. It's supposed to rain tonight though. I went to stand 16 and it just felt good. It was comfortable and I was filled with confidence as I saw a lot of tracks on the way to the stand. I got in the stand around 1:30 and by 2:15 I saw a deer in the middle of the field. I saw it for a while and then I didn't. I have the feeling that it bedded down in the middle. Shortly after that, around 2:45 I had a 3 point buck walk from the pit towards my stand. He walked right down the path and then under my stand. He stood there feeding for so long I could have shot him 10 times but wanted to wait for a bigger buck. Then after that, I had a small doe walk from the field towards my stand. She too stood there feeding 10 yards from me. I really debated shooting her but she was small and I just didn't feel like it. At around 4:30 or so I had a really nice doe walk from the shrub up the hill across the path but she went straight across and didn't come to me. She was about 50 yards away. I did see, through the brush, a doe and two fawns. They must have either caught my scent or some movement because they noticed me before I noticed them. They were coming down the field from the top and turned and went back where they came from (not that I would have shot anyway). During this entire night I kept swatting jumping spiders!! They were all over me!! What a great post this was!! (except the spiders).

My back yard
Fall is here! Considering how hot it was on Saturday, today it's barely in the 60's and it feels great! I decided to leave work a bit early and go hunting. I wanted to try behind my house for a change. I got home, dressed, got my stuff and headed out through the gate. After a few minutes of finding a decent tree to get up, I climbed and settled in. I could hear people cutting the lawn, kids playing, etc. I have to admit, I felt a little uneasy but if my neighbor (the police officer) said it was ok, and the guys I met setting up their stand (a police officer) said it was ok, it must be ok. As the light started to fade I happened to turn to my left and saw three does walking towards me. There were two medium sized does and one smallie. Unfortunately it was to my left so I couldn't draw on them, but I watched the bigger of the two try to make out what I was. She walked to about 23 yards and needed to take a few more steps for me to be able to draw on her but never did. They all decided to walk back from where they came. At dark I got down and went home. I'm not sure if there's anything besides those three deer in the woods but I'll give it another shot again.

Face to face
I went to the club today. I was the only one there, and probably because it was too damned hot to hunt deer. It was in the mid 80's and in the sun it was downright scorching. I had planned on taking my stand on going up a tree on the old farm road a little further down the field from where I had been sitting. That's where I've been seeing deer. When I got to the club I walked the road looking for a tree to climb and there was nothing...well nothing near where I wanted to be. So, instead, I saw a cutout from the farm road to the field and I saw that I could sit up against a tree, about 15 yards back from the field, so that's what I did. It was still so hot...bugs, flies, sweat...it was not very comfortable. As the afternoon faded, the weather became a little more tolerable and at about 5:30 I saw three deer enter the field. To my surprise, they came from my right (and I don't know where they could have come in the field from?). I watched them for a bit and noticed that they started to come closer. Then, suddenly, I heard one of them start to snort. They must have winded me from all that damned sweat. They weren't sure what was going on but they knew something was going on. That didn't stop them, however. One of them walked from the field, straight at me. She looked at me from the field and knew something wasn't right but couldn't figure it out so she walked right to me. She got to about 15 yards (if not closer) and just looked at me. She never turned broadside and then suddenly, she turned (the wrong way) and walked away and joined her friends who had just decided to move along. I stayed until it was dark and left without seeing anything else.

Nice day at the club
I went to the club this afternoon after Dani's softball games. It was warm day and I decided to take my stand in and climb up a tree off the farm road where I was last time (near the old #5 stand). When I got there, I see that Tony's truck was there and then the Nurse pulled up (don't remember his name). We chit chatted for a little bit and he told me that Greg was supposed to call me to let me know not to hunt there until the regular season...oh well.
I went to the farm road with the stand and couldn't find a tree to climb in the area I wanted. Instead, I put my stand down and I sat on the ground, in the hedgerow along the big field. At 5:20 I saw three does come out into the field further down than I was sitting. They were a bit nervous, like they could sense something wasn't right but didn't know what. They eventually moved further down the field and I didn't see them again. At around 6:30 or so, I saw more deer walking out from the same area but this time it was a doe and a spike. They too could sense something wasn't right...they worked into the field and eventually the buck had to come check me out. He slowly and cautiously walked towards me...little by little, bobbing his head the whole time, trying to make out what I was. He got to about 15 yards and then turned broadside. Just staring at me trying to make me out. I didn't want to shoot a spike so I just watched him. Eventually they made their way down the field as well. As I left, I could see the group of 5 hanging out towards the bottom of the field. I should move in closer and figure out where I could hang a stand near there.

Last time for a while...
Took the afternoon off today and headed to the dump. I think that this will be the last time for a while. I didn't see any deer and there was even corn on the ground that wasn't touched. I didn't see any sign at all.

I stink...
No, I mean literally! I went to Dani's softball games this morning and then headed to the club. The afternoon ended up a bit warmer than I was expecting but it was beautiful out. It's the kind of weather that could put you right to sleep as you're sitting in your stand.
I got to the club and there was no one there. I decided to take a few practice shots with my xbow to make sure that I was spot on. While I was doing that Jeff showed up, but apparently only to check his key. He told me that he and Tony were not going to hunt the club until the regular season because there's some big boys on the property and they didn't want to push them off. Well, I don't have that luxury so I'm hunting the club. He left and I finished getting dressed with the intention of going to the dip stand. I walked there and the stand wasn't looking all that secure. I decided to go somewhere else and walked to the first field and up until I can find a place to tuck in. I walked in the hedgerow on the edge of the farm road and into the next hedgerow. It was a great little spot but by the time I settled I was sweating my arse off! I sat and waited and finally cooled off.
At around 5:00 I slowly turned and saw some movement through the trees behind me. It was thick but I could see a deer moving around. I watched it for a while until I lost sight of it. Around a half hour later I noticed a few deer across the first field, towards the swamp. I watched them for a while and they disappeared. What I didn't know is that they were making their way towards me. They walked to the edge of the field but behind some thick brush. One of them must have caught my scent and winded me. The breeze was swirling and I sweat like a pig so I wasn't surprised. She/he snorted and took off.
About a half hour later I heard movement behind me. I turned slowly and saw three deer...and two of them were bucks. I couldn't tell what the other was. I saw the larger of the two (which I think was only a 4) did a little sparring and rubbing. They were literally 10 yards from me. They walked on (not sure where to) but shortly afterwards there must have been another deer behind them that caught wind of me (damn swirling wind) and started blowing. He/she took off and it got dark. I made my way out of my spot and into the field and noticed two deer downhill from me. I snuck out to the left and as I did I noticed the deer walking towards where I just left. When I got near my truck I looked through the range finder and noticed that it was one of the bucks (couldn't tell how big from that far).
Looks promising. i think i'm going to try that spot again but with my portable stand (and hopefully not sweat my arse off getting in).

A spike in the distance
I left work early today to get back in the woods. It is a gorgeous day!! high 60's and sunny. I went back to the dump and got into the tree around 2:45. Aside from a plethora of squirrels, I saw one spike buck on the other hill at around 5:30. Although I saw no deer, it was a wonderful afternoon in the woods. On a side note, the crossbow is clunky to have in a treestand but it sits nicely on my lap. I also like that at the end of the day, I have a little target practice while un-cocking the bow.

Opening day
Here it is, opening day of deer 2013!! I decided to start out at the dump. I only had a few hours because I had to bring Dani to softball. Jeannie is working the town-wide garage sale so I can only go for the morning post. It was cloudy and quite chilly. I got in the tree around 5:45 and waited for the sun. The only thing I saw the entire time was a few squirrels. I got out of the tree at 10 and went to softball.
Well now, THAT's a problem...
The season is quickly coming up so my practice regimen has been increasing. I do try and shoot every morning. The morning of Sept 9th I went outside to shoot...drew back the bow and the bow let off. I hate when that happens. I drew back again (without checking the arrow) and shot. What I heard was a slap and the arrow landed about 10 feet short of the target...crap! I had a partial dry fire. The only thing I can think of is that the arrow un-nocked itself partially and when I shot, it sort of dry fired. Now what!? I decided that because there is no time to get my bow looked at in time, I've got two options; don't hunt or get a crossbow. I had always wanted to play with a crossbow anyway so after some research I went to Dick's and picked up the Barnett Wildcat C5. I didn't want to spend a ton of money because I didn't know if I would like using one. I only had a few days left until the season started so that night, the night of the 11th I put it together. The next morning I took my first shot at 15 yards and it was just about dialed in already. My first impression is holy cow! The potential energy in this bow...you can just feel it. It was so powerful when I shot too...its actually a little intimidating. Now, on to Saturday!

Turkey trio trample...
I spent the entire day on Monday at the club looking for a gobble, but they turkeys just didn't want to cooperate. I started at the blind but then, after a while, I walked the entire property. Nothing. When I returned to the property on Tuesday, as soon as the sky started getting light, I heard gobbling from across the street. It got my blood pumped. I went back in to the blind and made a few soft calls. I didn't get a response. I waited for a while, about 10 minutes, and then called again. Still nothing. I waited 10 more minutes and repeated the calling. This went on for about 45 minutes when, after my last calling sequence, I got a response. It was a little far away so I wasn't sure if it was for me or not, but I waited. This time only 5 minutes and then called again. I got a response, it was definitely to me and it was closer. I waited 5 minutes and called, the gobble was closer ...now I know it's coming in. The last time I heard it gobble before I saw it, it sounded as though it was sitting next to me. Then I saw movement out to my right side. It was THREE gobblers, one as nice as the next. They came in together, grouped close so I had to wait it out. Once the lead gobbler got some distance between him and the other two I squeezed my trigger and dropped him. The other two, instead of running, gobbled and then did a dance on the dying gobbler. This went on for about 5 minutes or so until the other two walked off, gobbling the whole way. The bird had a 9 1/2" beard, 1" spurs and weighed in at 23 pounds. My biggest bird to date!

You went where?
I went to the club today. It was a little chilly, probably somewhere in the 30's but windy. I was the only one there...when I pulled up I noticed a bunch of tracks in the snow. I got dressed and made my way to the swamp. When I got there I didn't really see any tracks. I walked out into the field and manged to find one set of deer tracks and one set of...um...bear tracks I think. I thought to myself...if there were a bunch of deer tracks by the truck, why not go there? It's silly but maybe it will work. I walked back to where the truck was and kicked up a fox. I set up on the the top of a little hill on the way to 10 and overlooked the parking area. After a little while I saw another fox walk from the field to the truck and then run down the farm road. I saw in front of the swamp from where I was seated and saw a fox there too. That's all I saw all day though. It was still great to be out in the woods.

So warm out...
As I was driving up to the club the thermometer said 53 degrees. That's unbelievable for January. It was cloudy so it didn't make it feel quite as warm but it was still beautiful. I went back to the swamp but as I was getting dressed I saw the farmer with his tractor in the field. I had to get dressed and think about where I was going to go. As I was getting dressed the farmer pulled up to me and got off his tractor and asked if I've seen any deer. I told him it was hit or miss and that he should know better than I did. He said he hasn't seen much. He said he wasn't going to be field any longer so I went back to the swamp. I sat the whole time and didn't see anything. As I was getting out and walking back to the truck, across the field I could see two deer at the entrance to the field. It was so close to my truck that I wouldn't have shot if I could because I would have been afraid to hit my truck. I would have done better sitting in my truck tonight. It was still a great day to be in the woods.

Back up to the club...
Went to the club for an afternoon hunt. I wanted to sit back in the swamp. This time the water is starting to rise in there, so there's not as much room. I wonder if it will effect the deer? As I was about to leave my truck Tony pulled up. He's acting so weird anymore. Anyway, he said he was going to go to 10 I think and I went to the swamp. I sat the whole time and saw nothing. When I was walking out, I saw Tony walking from 5 across the field. When I talked to him he said that he took a walk around and thought he may push a deer to me. What a dick. How about not screwing up the woods by doing your own little walk about. Ass.
